Job summary

Odyssey is seeking its first dedicated IT owner to run technology across our Palo Alto office, provide remote support for London and Zurich, and establish IT policy for a rapidly growing team.

This hands-on role covers device lifecycle, networking, SaaS administration, security, budgeting, and cross-office standardization, with clear ownership and opportunity to shape IT culture at Odyssey. The candidate must thrive as a one-person IT shop and commit to 5 days in Palo Alto.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in IT support/administration, with 2+ years owning IT at a company of similar size
• Strong macOS and Windows experience, MDM (Jamf, Kandji, Intune or similar), and identity/SSO administration
• Solid networking fundamentals: DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, firewall management
• Experience selecting and managing SaaS tools and vendors
• Security-minded: patches, MFA enforcement, access reviews
• Clear communicator with non-technical colleagues
• Comfortable being a team of one: prioritizing, documenting, and asking for help when needed
• Must be able to work 5 days week at our Palo Alto office

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day IT support for the Palo Alto office; provide remote support for London and Zurich
• Manage the full device lifecycle: procurement, imaging/MDM enrollment, deployment, repair, retirement
• Run onboarding/offboarding: accounts, hardware, access provisioning/deprovisioning
• Maintain office AV, conference rooms, and printers
• Own office networking: Wi‑Fi, switches, firewalls, VPN
• Administer core SaaS: identity/SSO, email, Slack, MDM, endpoint security
• Manage software licensing, renewals, and IT vendor contracts
• Define IT security policy: device compliance, patching, MFA, access reviews
• Lead security tooling rollout and phishing awareness
• Support SOC 2 compliance with evidence collection and control ownership
• Maintain asset inventory and IT documentation
• Own IT budget and plan for growth across offices
