Job summary

State of Louisiana seeks an IT Systems Administrator (IT Technical Specialist 1 or 2) to manage and secure the agency’s server and endpoint environments. The role focuses on provisioning hypervisors, maintaining VDI, and supporting identity, networking, and development ecosystems.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with managed services, endpoint security, and backup strategies, with opportunities for probational or promotional appointment in Baton Rouge.

Qualifications

• Six years of information technology experience or equivalent substitutions.
• Education substitutions per state rules may apply at hire.
• Certifications may substitute for education/experience when hired from a Certificate of Eligibles.
• Official job specifications are defined by the State Civil Service.

Responsibilities

• Manage, secure, and optimize server infrastructure for uptime and performance.
• Administer and support VDI environments and virtual endpoints.
• Maintain directory/identity systems and core networking services.
• Oversee daily operations, identity governance, and networking configurations.
• Provide infrastructure support and configuration management for development ecosystems.
• Utilize enterprise management software to monitor, deploy, and audit resources.
