Qualifications

• Two years of information technology experience; OR six years of full-time work experience in any field.
• An associate's degree in information technology; OR a bachelor’s degree.
• Certification in an approved area may be substituted for education/experience at hire or promotion.

Responsibilities

• Assumes lead responsibility for day-to-day administration and maintenance of Windows servers for multiple state agencies.
• Coordinates installation, maintenance and modification of vendor-supplied software for Windows server environments.
• Recommends and implements standards, policies and procedures for Windows servers; consults with vendors.
• Advises end-users and administrators, designing documentation and education for highly complex areas of software performance.
• Mentors lower level team members and participates in knowledge transfer and training.
• Identifies and analyzes current and future Windows server needs; reviews software products and interfaces with vendors.
• Provides problem determination for incident reports in Windows server environments; follows up with users.
• Advises management on acquisitions, capacity planning and technology trends; reviews technical literature.
• Performs other tasks, projects, analyses as directed.
