IT System Administrator | Austin, TX (On-site)

JCW Group has partnered with an organization that has offices in Austin, TX to hire an IT System Administrator within their Information Technology team. This is an on-site technical support role, where you'll handle day-to-day hardware and software support for local and remote employees while contributing to a variety of IT functions. It's an excellent opportunity for an IT professional who is fully proficient in Windows and macOS and looking to see detailed technical initiatives through from start to finish with minimal supervision.

Position Overview

This is an on-site position, based in the Austin, TX office five days per week. Alongside day-to-day technical support for local and remote employees, the IT System Administrator assists with a broad set of IT functions, including inventory, new system rollouts, asset management, network and teleconference equipment, and computer room and data center operations. The role includes occasional, optional travel to an additional office in Austin to provide support.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day technical support to local and remote employees, addressing hardware and software issues on their laptops and mobile devices across Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android.
• Maintain passwords, data integrity, and file system security for the desktop environment.
• Assist with a variety of IT functions, including hardware and software inventory and the rollout of new systems to end users and groups.
• Handle asset management and inventory management, as well as the shipping and receiving of hardware.
• Assist in maintaining network equipment, phones, and teleconference equipment.
• Help support computer room and data center operations.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Full proficiency with the Windows and macOS operating systems
• Experience supporting the Microsoft Office Suite
• Extensive experience using Excel, OneNote, OneDrive, and SharePoint
• Thorough understanding of PC hardware and efficient troubleshooting techniques
• Documentation skills to write instructions and record troubleshooting techniques and solutions for others to follow
• Ability to convey highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken
• High level of accountability, with the ability to carry detailed, technical initiatives from start to finish with minimal supervision
