Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 technical support for network connectivity, hardware, software, and telephony issues.

• Assist with installation, configuration, maintenance of routers, switches, IP phones, and related equipment.
• Support telephony systems and basic VoIP troubleshooting.
• Document troubleshooting steps and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Assist with network maintenance, patches, and security configurations.
• Maintain equipment inventories and IT asset tracking.
• Collaborate with network admins and IT staff to maintain service reliability.

Job description

Immediate need for a talented IT Support Technician – Network Admin. This is a 12+ Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Honolulu, Hawaii (Hybrid).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Level 1 technical support for network connectivity, hardware, software, and telephony issues.
• Troubleshoot basic LAN, WAN, and wireless network problems.
• Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of routers, switches, wireless devices, IP phones, and related network equipment.
• Support enterprise telephony and voice communication systems, including basic IP phone and VoIP troubleshooting.
• Diagnose technical issues, document troubleshooting steps, resolve routine incidents, and elevate complex problems when necessary.
• Assist with network maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, software patches, service packs, hotfixes, and security configurations.
• Support related infrastructure, including servers, backup systems, and network diagnostic and management tools, under supervision.
• Maintain accurate equipment inventories and assist with IT asset tracking.
• Initiate and track Return Material Authorization (RMA) requests for defective equipment through resolution.
• Collaborate with network administrators, telecommunications teams, and other IT personnel to maintain service reliability.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Basic knowledge of computer networking, including LAN, WAN, and wireless technologies.
• Familiarity with network hardware such as routers, switches, wireless access points, or IP phones.
• Experience or foundational knowledge in IT support, help desk support, network troubleshooting, or technical support.
• Basic understanding of hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Ability to follow technical procedures, document issues, and elevate incidents appropriately.
• Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Previous experience in IT support, desktop support, network support, or telecommunications support.
• Familiarity with VoIP, IP telephony, or enterprise phone systems.
• Exposure to network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with equipment inventory, hardware replacement, or RMA tracking.
• CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent technical training is a plus.
