Job summary

General Atomics is seeking a customer-focused IT Support Technician to join the Core Services IT team in San Diego, CA. The role focuses on hands-on Help Desk and Desktop Support for Windows and Mac endpoints, Microsoft 365 tools, onboarding, and maintaining A/V systems across conference rooms and control rooms.

You will manage endpoint deployment, routine backups, and basic network diagnostics, while collaborating with researchers and staff in a mission-driven scientific environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Windows 10/11 and macOS endpoints.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 apps and collaboration tools.
• Ability to onboard new users and assist with access and device setup.
• Familiarity with basic network diagnosis and hardware troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, image, upgrade, and maintain Windows/Mac endpoints across sites.
• Provide front-line Help Desk support via in-person, phone, and ticketing systems.
• Assist with Microsoft 365 apps, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, Zoom, and AVD connectivity.
• Coordinate onboarding for new employees and collaborators, including NAC registration.
• Perform routine backups, data migrations, and disk cloning for workstations.
• Set up and troubleshoot conference room PCs, displays, projectors, microphones, and signage.
• Diagnose basic network issues and escalate complex problems to senior staff.
• Maintain inventory, track assets, and support software license renewals.
