Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a business environment troubleshooting networks, printers and computer systems.
• Experience with the latest Microsoft operating systems.
• Possession of a valid driver's license on date of application and maintenance thereafter.
• MCSA certification within six months of appointment; MCSE desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provides service and support for computer hardware, software and network problems; installs, configures and tests hardware, software and equipment.
• Responds to inquiries and requests for service in a courteous manner; troubleshoots hardware, software and network problems.
• Logs and tracks calls for service; prepares related reports and problem trend analyses.
• Provides technical training to staff; writes or compiles training documentation.
• Assists in installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of network equipment.
• Coordinates vendor repair requirements with user community.
• Maintains the city’s hardware asset database.
• Assists in developing system specifications for standard personal computers.
