Job summary

University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking a Computer Specialist to provide system-level and client support for hardware and software across the College of Arts & Sciences. The role covers Windows and Mac OS environments on workstations, staff laptops, and IT-rich labs within the College and its affiliates.

The position requires an associate's degree in computer science or related field plus two years of IT support experience, with demonstrated hardware, software and networking skills.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in computer science or related field plus two years of IT support, including experience with both Mac and Windows software and hardware technologies; equivalent education/experience considered.
  • Work experience required demonstrating computer hardware, software and networking skills.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, internet skills and ability to prioritize and work independently.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide system-level and client support of all hardware and software systems in the College.
  • Install, configure and maintain Windows and MAC OS systems on workstations and labs.
  • Support IT-rich labs and equipment within the College and affiliates.
