Job summary

The City of Portsmouth is seeking an IT support specialist to provide first-line and escalated assistance for end users, desktops, and networks. You will manage tickets, patch Windows systems, and support Active Directory operations.

The role requires an associate degree in IT or related field and 1–3 years of experience, with familiarity of Group Policy and Microsoft OS/Office. On-site duties include maintaining documentation and assisting with system upgrades.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• 1–3 years IT experience with Active Directory.
• Experience with Windows Group Policy management.
• Experience with Microsoft Operating systems and Office products.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle first level and escalated support of service requests for workstations, printers, networks, and vendor-specific hardware/software.
• Manage support tickets and maintain documentation of infrastructure and services.
• Configure, monitor and update antivirus protection software; install/upgrade software for Desktop OS.
• Manage accounts and password resets in Active Directory; deploy OS and patches to desktops and servers.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and coordinate with other teams to ensure system integration.
