Job summary

The City of Topeka's Information Technology department seeks a motivated Help Desk Technician to provide direct support and guidance to employees, ensuring tools are available to stay productive.

The role covers provisioning, maintenance, and support of PCs, mobile devices and related equipment, including Windows OS, Office, and desktop applications, in collaboration with network and software teams.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or vocational training in IT preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required if no degree.
• CompTIA A+ certification preferred; desktop certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and process requests via the IT service desk.
• Install, configure and support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and other systems.
• Install, configure and support PC and mobile operating systems and desktop software.
• Participate in asset management lifecycle inventory activities.
