Job summary

Brown University in Providence, RI, seeks two IT Support Consultants to join the School of Engineering. The role provides advanced desktop, operating system, and hardware support for the engineering community through on-site assistance and desktop remote troubleshooting.

You will manage help tickets, phone inquiries, and walk-ins with a strong focus on customer service. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of desktop support experience, proficiency with Windows and macOS, and familiarity with

Qualifications

2–3 years’ experience providing desktop support in an IT help desk environment
Experience supporting Windows and macOS in an academic/engineering environment
Knowledge of software distribution tools such as SCCM, JAMF, and ARD
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

Provide advanced application, OS, desktop and mobile hardware support on-site and via remote troubleshooting
Respond to help tickets, phone calls and walk-ins with prioritization and escalation as needed
Support projects and provide backup coverage for colleagues’ sick/vacation time
