Job summary

The Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General is seeking a Technical Support Engineer I to support the state’s IT environment. You will configure, install, maintain, and upgrade end-user hardware and software, including desktops, printers, and mobile devices.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, responding to help desk requests, managing user accounts, coordinating with agencies, and deploying PC images and software packages. Hybrid telework is possible under policy.

Qualifications

• Work experience equivalent to or Degree in Computer Science preferred.
• Current network and OS certifications strongly preferred.
• Strong technology, organization, listening, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and implement fixes for PCs, laptops, and mobile devices.
• Provide high level customer service and help desk support.
• Create, change, and delete user accounts on request.
• Coordinate with state agencies on hardware/software service needs.
• Assist in troubleshooting web connectivity and provide remote support.
• Create, deploy, and maintain PC images and software packages.
• Maintain inventory and support schedules.
• Be available for on-call and after-hours responsibilities.
