Defense Media Activity is seeking a GS-12 IT specialist to analyze, design, develop, integrate, implement, and modernize academic applications for the Defense Information School. The role emphasizes SDLC leadership, Agile methodologies, and secure, compliant enterprise solutions.
The incumbent will leverage Azure DevOps and SQL Server in a client-facing environment, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to federal IT standards while collaborating with a team of developers and DBAs.
This position is part of the Department of War, War Media Activity (WMA). The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, integrating, implementing, maintaining, and modernizing academic applications supporting the Defense Information School.
You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Serving as a technical lead managing a team of application developers and database administrators. Executing the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) utilizing Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps. Developing Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server database objects. Ensuring compliance with federal security and accessibility mandates for enterprise systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This position has an individual occupational requirement (IOR) which must be met in order to qualify for this position. You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following four competencies listed below:
