Job summary

U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency seeks qualified IT professionals to lead planning and implementation of current and future IT systems supporting mission requirements.

The role involves designing and operating enterprise IT solutions, conducting assessments, and translating customer needs into actionable technical requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience with system architecture, hardware/software integration, and strong customer service skills to support DIA's defense intelligence

Qualifications

  • Highly desirable containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Determines the appropriate IT strategy to plan, develop, implement, and maintain current and future IT systems to support mission requirements.
  • Designs, builds, tests, integrates, deploys and operates enterprise IT engineering solutions and services.
  • Conducts assessments to evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of IT solutions.
  • Demonstrates experience in system architecture and integration of hardware and software components.
  • Translates customer requirements into technical requirements to drive solution development.

ASSESSMENT FACTORS
  1. Determines the appropriate strategy for planning, developing, implementing, operationalizing, and/or maintaining the current and future IT systems to support mission requirements.
  2. Designs, builds, tests, integrates, deploys and operates enterprise IT engineering solutions and services.
  3. Conducts assessments and evaluations involving multiple or complex functions to determine effectiveness and efficiency of IT solutions.
  4. Demonstrated experience designing and implementing system architecture and integration, including hardware and software components.
  5. Demonstrated experience with codifying customer requirements and translating them to technical requirements to drive solution development.
HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS
  1. Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
  2. Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  3. Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Individual Occupation Requirements

All Applicants must meet the following minimum qualification requirements in order to be considered for this position:

Requirements may be met either through Education and/or Experience and/or a combination of both.

Education:

All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. The coursework must be either undergraduate or graduate and must include a minimum of 24 semester hours in one, or a combination of the following: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.

Level/Education:
  • GG-07 : One (1) full year of graduate level education; or Bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement
  • GG-09: Master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree; OR two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree
  • GG-11 and above: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree; OR three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
Experience
  • Must be IT-related (paid or unpaid);
  • May have involved the completion of specific and intensive training (for example, IT certification);
  • Should have equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and should have been gained in the same or related field as the work of the position being filled;
  • Should have been gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern was IT;
  • Should consist of at least one year at a level equivalent to the next lower GG level;

Must have demonstrated each of the following four competencies:
