Job summary

The City of Rock Hill is seeking an IT Support Technician to assist the Information Technology Services Department with core systems, software and hardware support, and network tasks for city-wide operations.

The role requires strong problem-solving, documentation skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team; a high school diploma with relevant college coursework and 3-5 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with college-level Associate Degree coursework in computer science.
• 3–5 years of experience in computer operations and support, or an equivalent combination.
• Pass a FBI background and fingerprint check.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains and troubleshoots PCs and application software; basic networking.
• Documents activities and maintains user accounts on network and host systems.
• Provides end-user assistance and instruction; supports cybersecurity practices in daily tasks.
• Creates SQL statements for queries and data dumps; builds reports as assigned.
• Coordinates with City departments and outside agencies on IT requirements.
