Job summary

Baltimore City Health Department is seeking an IT Service Desk Technician to support users across the agency. The role involves providing Help Desk support, troubleshooting issues, and installing and configuring software and operating systems for internal and external users.

The technician will set up computer hardware, printers and related devices, while ensuring network connectivity and software readiness.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university.
Experience in coordinating, monitoring and processing cases involving health, social, vocational or rehabilitation services preferred.
Two years of computer support, applications analysis and/or data security and testing experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Serve as the initial point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance via phone, chat, email or in person.
Provide on-demand technical support for VIP users regarding system performance and availability.
Monitor the Service Desk ticket queue, resolve tickets and handle escalations; install, configure and maintain PC hardware and software.
Troubleshoot Web browsers and basic network connectivity.
Configure laptops and desktops for various agencies per their needs.
Maintain inventory and assist with hardware refresh programs.
