Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking an IT Service Desk Technician to support users across the Baltimore City Health Department. You will provide Help Desk support, install and configure software, and set up computer hardware for internal and external users.

You will manage the service desk queue, assist VIPs, and maintain PCs, printers, and network connectivity. A background check and probation are required for employment with the City.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Four years of experience coordinating, monitoring and processing health/social services cases, including two years supervising staff.
• Two years of computer support, applications analysis and/or data security and testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial contact for customers seeking technical assistance via phone, chat, email or in person.
• Provide on-demand technical support for VIP users and ensure system performance and availability.
• Install, configure and test software and operating systems; setup hardware for internal and external users.
• Maintain inventory and run reports for computers and laptops in the environment.
