Job summary

AvaLab, a dental laboratory, seeks an experienced IT Administrator to support the production environment and manage purchasing of materials and consumables. You will enforce SOPs/QMSR procedures across IT and purchasing, maintain records, and ensure attendance to support time-sensitive operations.

The role covers IT infrastructure, software environments, vendor coordination, and hands-on lab floor support, with on-site duties and occasional lift requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in IT administration in production/manufacturing/healthcare.
• Strong Windows administration and networking fundamentals.
• Ability to work directly with non-technical users under time pressure.
• Solid backup, recovery, and security practices.
• Excellent organization, follow-through, and communication.
• Ability to lift 25–50 lbs and work on-site in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the laboratory management system and keep data accurate and backed up.
• Support CAD/CAM software environments, including license management, updates, and workstation configurations.
• Manage the network, servers, and workstations across the lab floor.
• Maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Coordinate with software and hardware vendors for support, licensing, and warranty claims.
• Support 3D printers and mills at the software and network layer.
• Maintain HIPAA-adjacent data handling practices and enforce them with staff.
• Document systems, credentials, and procedures.
• Performs routine website updates and monitoring as needed.
• Source and purchase all lab materials and consumables; track spend and identify cost savings.
