Job summary

UIW in San Antonio seeks an IT Project Manager/Business Analyst to collaborate with cross-functional and technical teams across domestic and international UIW sites, facilitating business analysis and managing project activities to support technology process improvements.

You will report to the Assistant Director of Global Technology Operations and Project Management and will lead meetings, develop reports from SQL queries, and ensure requirements are clearly documented and aligned with

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related IT or business field.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in business analysis.
  • Two (2) years in complex project management facilitating business process reviews.
  • Two (2) years of presenting to audiences with varying technical levels.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft productivity tools.
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries for analysis and end-user reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

IT Project Manager/Business Analyst
UIW Mission

The IT Project Manager/Business Analyst is responsible for collaborating with cross-functional and technical teams across domestic and international UIW sites to facilitate business analysis and management of project activities. Key responsibilities include managing project operations to support the successful implementation of technological processes and/or system improvements. The IT Project Manager/Business Analyst reports to the Assistant Director of Global Technology Operations and Project Management.

Job Duties

  • Strong skills in project management and business analysis methodologies.
  • Experience of knowledge in Microsoft productivity tools.
  • Strong skills in writing SQL queries to analyze and create end-user reports.
  • Strong skills in writing and modifying reports utilizing reporting tools.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate meetings involving both functional and technical teams.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate project activities.
  • Effective oral, written and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively pivot communication style to address the needs of the audience and shifting priorities.
  • Strong skills in critical thinking, time management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targeted deadlines.
  • A record of being flexible, accurate, detail-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or relevant degree.

Required Work Experience
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in the field of business analysis. Note that complex internships will be considered.
  • Two (2) years of professional complex project management experience facilitating business process reviews and documenting current processes, gaps, and desired future states. Note that complex internships will be considered.
  • Two (2) years of experience developing and executing presentations for audiences with various technical levels within an organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Four (4) years of professional experience in the field of business analysis.
  • Three (3) years experience facilitating business process reviews, documenting current processes, gaps, and desired future state.
  • Three (3) years experience working in an educational/university environment.
  • Three (3) experience working with Ellucian Banner Applications.
  • Three (3) years of experience facilitating business process reviews and documenting outcomes.
  • Three (3) years of experience using reporting tools such as Argos and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Knowledge of higher education administrative areas and their function, such as the roles within the recruitment, admissions, registration, billing, and business/finance departments.
  • Familiarity with higher education organizational structure, policies, and procedures.
  • Business Analysis or Project Management certification.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.

Work Hours

Mon through Fri 8am to 5pm with extended hours as needed to meet departmental goals.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to regularly move about main campus and local satellite campuses to provide customer services as needed throughout the day.
  • Ability to regularly move about campus to actively engage faculty, staff, and potential/current students, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
