Position Summary

The Business Operations Manager serves as a key member of the School of Nursing and Health Professions ( SNHP ) team and supports the Dean in overseeing the school’s financial, operational, and administrative activities, as well as collaborates with program chairs, directors, and faculty as appropriate. This position is responsible for budget planning and monitoring, operational coordination, compliance reporting, staff supervision, and special projects that support the school’s academic mission and strategic goals. The Business Operations Manager reports to the Dean, School of Nursing and Health Professions.

Description of Job Duties

  • Assist the Dean in developing and monitoring the school’s annual budget.
  • Track revenues and expenditures and prepare budget reports for school leadership.

  • Work with faculty principal investigators and the Office of Research and Graduate Studies to support grant budgeting and reporting requirements.

  • Process invoices, budget transfers, payroll authorization forms, and position requisitions.
  • Serve as the school’s liaison with Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, the Provost’s Office, and other university departments.
  • Assist with financial audits and ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.

  • Support efficient use of school resources and identify opportunities to improve administrative processes.

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree.

Required Work Experience
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in business operations, financial management, budgeting, or administration to include direct experience in financial reporting, budget development, and operational planning.
  • One (1) year of experience supervising staff or leading operational initiatives in a relevant environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Business or health related field.
  • Experience in higher education administration.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW .
  • Valid identification with “Real Id” designation, as required for air travel.
Work Hours

Typical Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with occasional extended hours/weekends to meet departmental needs (including travel) and/or needs of the learning community, with some weeknights and weekends.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to actively engage in events for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to regularly move about campus, event venues, and recruitment sites to actively engage potential students, as well as attend meetings on and off campus.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs for table set-up/tear-down at events to include reaching overhead, bending, squatting to retrieve office/marketing/events materials.
  • Ability to push/pull event carts holding up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to navigate airports with recruiting materials.
