Job description

About the Role

You will lead several medium and large IT and business projects at once inside an established IT PMO, owning scope, schedule, budget, and risk from kickoff through delivery. Projects last from a few months to multiple years, can reach several million dollars, and cut across business units, vendors, and technology teams. The people who do well here manage the money and the stakeholders as closely as they manage the work plan.

What You'll Do
  • Build and manage the communication plan so sponsors, team members, and business partners always know where the project stands.
  • Identify the resources each project needs and work with resource managers to staff the right skills.
  • Set project schedules, find the critical path, and hold teams to the PMO's delivery methodology and scheduling standards.
  • Manage issues, risks, and changes through the PMO's agreed processes and tools.
  • Forecast and report project financials, planned versus actual schedule, and resource utilization; apply cost-to-completion projections and revenue models to your decisions.
  • Prepare funding documentation to finance and PMO requirements, and work with Strategic Sourcing and Contracts to produce RFPs, MSAs, and SOWs.
  • Lead project reviews and retrospectives, and supply information for audits, status reports, and executive review meetings.
  • Direct matrixed project teams of 5 to 75 people without direct reports.
  • Contribute to PMO process improvement and help onboard new project managers.
What You'll Bring
  • 5 or more years in a project management role, including developing project teams.
  • 5 or more years in an information technology capacity, with a working understanding of applications, databases, networking, telecommunications and connectivity, and security and compliance.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on ownership of project budgets, forecasting, and cost-to-completion reporting.
  • Experience preparing RFPs, MSAs, and SOWs with sourcing and contracts teams.
  • Deep knowledge of the project management life cycle and systems development life cycles, including Agile, Iterative, and Waterfall.
  • Advanced skill in the MS Office suite, including Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • The judgment to make decisions within approved scope, schedule, and budget, and to elevate to executive sponsors when a decision falls outside them.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with senior management, project teams, and external groups.
Nice to Have
  • PMP certification.
  • Familiarity with Clarity or another portfolio and program management tool.
  • Technology project experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Prior involvement in PMO process improvement or PM onboarding.
Location & Schedule
  • Hybrid: onsite at the client's headquarters Monday through Wednesday.
  • Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • No expected overtime.
  • Travel: minimal to none.
Why You'll Want This Role
  • You will own high-visibility projects with multi-million-dollar budgets and executive sponsorship.
  • The PMO already has a defined methodology, so you can spend your time delivering instead of inventing process.
  • You will build and lead cross-functional teams across multiple business areas.
