The IT PMO Project Manager leads critical IT projects within the organization, ensuring alignment with Client’s quality and compliance standards. This role requires a proven leader who can manage complex projects, communicate effectively, engage stakeholders, and deliver results with precision and efficiency. The Project Manager will take ownership of driving issues, resolving challenges, and ensuring project objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Ownership
- Drive project execution, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met
- Take ownership of resolving project issues and escalat proactively
- Provide leadership and accountability for project outcomes
Project Leadership Functions
- Develop comprehensive project plans with milestones, resources, and timelines
- Maintain and manage RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align projects with business goals
- Facilitate effective communication with stakeholders, including status updates
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand priorities
- Act as primary point of contact for project communications
- Manage stakeholder expectations and engage leadership as needed
Compliance and Quality Standards
- Ensure adherence to Client’s quality and compliance standards
- Monitor deliverables to confirm regulatory and company requirements are met
Issue Management and Escalation
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Escalate issues to management when necessary, keeping stakeholders informed
Qualifications
- 7+ years of project management experience, preferably in IT or PMO environments
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required (active dates must be listed on resume)
- Agile or Scrum training/certification strongly desired
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong ability to manage project plans, RAID logs, and cross-functional collaboration
- Proven problem-solving abilities and issue resolution skills
- Detail-oriented with commitment to quality and compliance
Preferred Domain Expertise
- Financial Application Expertise: Experience delivering financial application solutions (SAP, PeopleSoft) and working with Finance stakeholders
- SOX Compliance: Drafting/managing requirements for SOX compliance; ensuring systems/processes align with audit standards
- Cutover Planning & Execution: Experience with after-hours cutovers for financial applications; coordinating smooth transitions
- Agile Methodologies: Proven experience in Agile environments; familiarity with Scrum frameworks
