The Twelfth Judicial Circuit has an opening for an IT Professional I position, working with Court Administration in Sarasota County. The primary focus of this position is to support the Twelfth Circuit’s end-user computing and courtroom technical infrastructure. Key responsibilities include maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading IT hardware and software to ensure seamless day-to-day judicial operations. Additionally, the role involves providing responsive technical support, maintaining accurate system documentation, and researching emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and on-call on a rotating support schedule. Applicants must be flexible, with the ability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as assigned.

Sample Duties:
End-User Technical Support & System Maintenance
- Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot PCs, laptops, cell phones, printers, copiers, and essential peripheral components.
- Resolve incoming inquiries submitted in person, via telephone, email, or through the Help Desk ticketing system in a timely and professional manner.
- Document detailed diagnostics and resolutions within the Help Desk knowledge base to facilitate continuous system tracking and optimization.
- Install, configure, and update standard business operating software (including core Microsoft 365 applications and commercial off-the-shelf software) as well as specialized, internal court applications.
- Serve as the primary technical lead for user onboarding and offboarding, managing hardware staging, software provisioning, and back-end user account setups.
- Coordinate and facilitate the installation of software applications provided by external or other elected officials' IT departments onto Circuit workstations.
Courtroom Infrastructure Management
- Provide direct in-courtroom technical assistance to judges, attorneys, and administrative staff to ensure uninterrupted judicial proceedings.
- Manage the daily operation and reliability of courtroom systems, including audio-visual equipment and integrated technology.
Asset Management, Database Records & Reporting
- Maintain and update the Circuit’s comprehensive hardware and software inventory databases across city, county, and state records.
- Execute secure hardware disposal procedures in compliance with regulatory and organizational frameworks.
- Analyze data and produce reports to establish multi-year hardware refresh and lifecycle schedules.
Collaboration, Training & Professional Development
- Act as a technical liaison, collaborating closely with county IT professionals and partnering agency technical staff to maintain court-related operations.
- Deliver hands‑on training and instruction to Circuit employees regarding the proper use of end‑user hardware, software, Microsoft 365 applications, and courtroom A/V equipment.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional IT team members on strategic technical projects, demonstrating an active willingness to acquire new technology skills and step into technical lead roles.
About the Schedule
Work Hours:
- Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
- Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.
- On-call on a rotating support schedule. Applicants must be flexible, with the ability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as assigned
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Progressively responsible professional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required degree.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening:
This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for a period of five years.
CJIS Clearance:
The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.
