Job summary

HappyRobot Inc. is seeking an IT Engineer in San Francisco to lead internal IT operations, manage identity, devices and access, and automate repetitive work for a fast-growing AI startup. You’ll own IAM, onboarding/offboarding, workspace administration, and device management across Google Workspace, M365, and MDM platforms.

Strong scripting and API skills are essential. You will support tickets, ensure least privilege and SLAs, and write clear runbooks for changes and outages, while

Qualifications

• 3+ years in IT administration or IT engineering, preferably in a fast-growing tech company.
• Hands-on experience with at least one IDP (Okta, Google Auth), one MDM, and one ticketing tool.
• MDM knowledge with Jamf, Iru or Intune, including Apple ADE / Windows Autopilot.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and DNS records (A, CNAME, MX, TXT).
• Ability to read and modify scripts in Python, Bash or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Identity & Access management across Okta/Entra ID, SSO/SAML/OIDC and SCIM integrations.
• Oversee onboarding/offboarding to ensure Day 1 access and equipment readiness.
• Administer Google Workspace and M365, including users, groups, licenses, drives and security.
• Manage device enrollment, configuration profiles, app deployment, patching and compliance.
• Handle IT tickets, SLAs, approvals, and least-privilege access requests.
• Automate repetitive IT tasks with scripts and document runbooks.
