Job summary

University of Pittsburgh's Pitt IT Operations seeks an Assistant Director, IT Operations to lead the systems engineering and operations team responsible for the university's infrastructure, data center and server hosting, virtualization, storage, and cloud integrations.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on experience with Windows/Linux, virtualization, backup/recovery, patching, and ITIL-aligned change and incident management in a large, 24x7 production environment.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise infrastructure or IT operations.
• Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience administering enterprise Windows Server and/or Linux environments at scale.
• Working knowledge of enterprise virtualization, backup & recovery, patch management, and infrastructure monitoring practices.
• Demonstrated experience with formal change management and incident management processes in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering and operations team for enterprise infrastructure.
• Ensure 24x7x365 monitoring; manage budgets and projects.
• Collaborate with network teams to support on-premises and cloud platforms.
