Job summary
University of Pittsburgh seeks an Assistant Director, IT Operations to lead Pitt Digital's systems engineering and operations. You will oversee data center, server hosting, virtualization, storage, backup, patching, and identity services, ensuring a healthy production environment across campuses.
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in IT operations, strong leadership, and hands-on experience with Windows/Linux at scale, ITSM/ITIL familiarity, and a track record of managing complex infrastructure
Qualifications
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise infrastructure or IT operations.
- Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Hands-on experience administering enterprise Windows Server and/or Linux environments at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead the systems engineering and operations organization for university infrastructure.
- Oversee data center, server hosting, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery.
- Manage change and incident processes in a production environment.
- Supervise projects and budgetary matters; guide senior engineers.
