Position Summary
The Digital Workplace Manager is responsible for the strategy and staff delivering digital workplace applications and services that support the digital employee experience (DEX). This includes managing operations, governance, enablement, and engineering. The role promotes adoption of digital technologies like AI, collaboration, knowledge management, and productivity tools to enhance workforce digital dexterity and productivity. It also involves managing enablement processes and leading cross-functional teams to ensure employees are motivated, authorized, and knowledgeable about workplace and employee technology. Collaboration with HR, corporate communications, business leaders, IT partners, vendors, and the service desk is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform daily operations with a focus on automation and a shift-left mindset, guiding IT professionals and supporting their assignments.
- Align team goals with the organizational vision, translating strategic objectives into actionable plans.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, leading through change and transformation.
- Work with stakeholders to identify technology needs and collaborate with IT teams for effective solutions, developing continuous improvement strategies.
- Ensure system availability, reliability, and security, implementing measures to protect sensitive information and prevent disruptions.
- Lead low- to medium-complexity IT projects, ensuring timely, within-budget delivery that meets quality standards, and manage the project portfolio effectively.
- Assist in developing and managing the department budget, tracking expenses, and allocating resources efficiently.
- Stay updated on technology trends, industry advancements, and regulations, recommending new technologies for operational improvements.
- Assess technology needs, recommend system enhancements, upgrades, or replacements, and seek process optimization opportunities.
- Partner with leadership to develop compelling business cases for technology initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of IT policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance.
- Manage recruitment, development, retention, and performance of staff to meet business needs.
- Use data-driven approaches to analyze the relationship between technology investments, employee experience, and business outcomes.
- Incorporate user journey mapping and design thinking to advocate for the user perspective.
- Lead AI functions related to personal productivity in collaboration with analytics and AI governance teams.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of diversified IT experience.
- 3+ years leading professional staff.
- Experience managing digital workplace applications and vendor governance, including RFPs and service transitions.
- Preferred: experience with generative AI and creating lean business cases for executive support.
