Job summary

The City of Woodstock IT Department is seeking an Information Technology Manager to lead a small but critical team and drive strategic technology initiatives.

You will oversee servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud services, while managing a part-time staff and ensuring excellent customer service and support. The role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership in Woodstock, Illinois.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/MIS/Cybersecurity or related field with 3+ years of progressive IT experience.
• Experience with Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, networking, virtualization, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.
• Professional customer service and technical support experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the IT Director in planning, implementing, and maintaining technology infrastructure and initiatives.
• Manage administration, maintenance, and security of servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud services.
• Oversee daily activities of part-time IT staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, training, and mentoring.
• Oversee the City’s Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, licensing, and related cloud technologies.
