Job summary

Stanley David and Associates is seeking an experienced IT Lab Support Manager to lead IT support operations in a pharmaceutical/life sciences laboratory environment. The role focuses on GxP and non-GxP environments, laboratory systems, and robust IT infrastructure.

You will manage a team of Lab IT Support Engineers, ensure compliance, coordinate with Quality/Compliance, vendors and IT, and drive improvements in reliability, performance, and user experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT/Lab IT support experience in pharma or life sciences.
• Experience leading an IT Lab Support team.
• Strong knowledge of GxP, GMP and regulated lab environments.
• Experience with LIMS, Empower, LabWare, NuGenesis or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management.

• Oversee daily IT Lab Support operations across pharmaceutical and lab environments.
• Lead and mentor Lab IT Support Engineers and technicians.
• Support laboratory applications, systems, instruments, hardware, and networks.
• Ensure IT services comply with GxP, GMP, regulatory and quality requirements.
• Manage incidents, service requests, escalations and problem management.
• Coordinate with lab users, Quality/Compliance, vendors and IT teams.
• Assist audits, inspections and compliance activities as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve lab IT processes and user experience.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced IT Lab Support Manager to lead and manage IT support operations within a Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences laboratory environment. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with GxP and non-GxP environments, laboratory systems, IT infrastructure, compliance, and team management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day IT Lab Support operations across pharmaceutical/laboratory environments.
• Lead and mentor a team of Lab IT Support Engineers and technicians.
• Provide support for laboratory applications, systems, instruments, hardware, and network connectivity.
• Ensure IT services comply with GxP, GMP, regulatory, and quality requirements.
• Manage incidents, service requests, escalations, and problem management.
• Coordinate with laboratory users, Quality/Compliance teams, vendors, and IT infrastructure teams.
• Support GxP and non-GxP laboratory environments and ensure appropriate controls are followed.
• Oversee system changes, upgrades, installations, validation, and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, change control, incident management, CAPA, and audit requirements.
• Monitor service performance, SLAs, KPIs, and operational metrics.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and compliance activities when required.
• Identify opportunities to improve lab IT processes, reliability, and user experience.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in IT/Lab IT Support, preferably within the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry.
• Previous experience managing or leading an IT Lab Support team.
• Strong knowledge of GxP, GMP, and regulated laboratory environments.
• Experience supporting laboratory applications and systems such as LIMS, Empower, LabWare, NuGenesis, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of laboratory instruments, desktops, servers, networks, and application support.
• Experience with ITIL, incident management, change management, and service management.
• Strong documentation, communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
