Job summary

Delta Dental in San Francisco seeks a Manager IT Internal Audit to lead risk-based audits, provide technology risk expertise, and support Model Audit Rule compliance. You will coach staff, drive advisory work, and oversee investigations related to technology while maintaining independence.

You will shape the audit strategy, assess risk across ITGCs, cybersecurity, data governance, and systems development, and use AI and data analytics to improve audit quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 8+ years w/Bachelor’s degree; 1+ years supervisory/management
• Comprehensive knowledge of auditing principles and techniques
• Knowledge of technology environments and IT risk concepts, including IT general controls (ITGCs), technology governance, cybersecurity, cloud environments, and systems implementation or ERP risk
• Familiarity with COSO, COBIT, NIST, or ISO 27001
• Proficiency in applying AI, data analytics, and automation within audit processes
• Strong organization, time management, project management, and prioritization skills
• Experience with audit management and electronic workpaper systems such as TeamMate+ or comparable platforms
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to formulate recommendations
• Leadership and coaching skills
• Ability to travel regularly
• CISA required; CIA preferred

Responsibilities

• Contributes to development and execution of Internal Audit department strategy and translates it into actionable initiatives
• Provides input to departmental goals and ensures alignment with corporate objectives
• Performs continuous risk assessments analyzing technology, financial and operational issues
• Manages and develops Internal Audit staff including staffing, coaching and evaluating performance
• Evaluates requests for feasibility and ensures projects meet schedules and budgets
• Advances audit methodologies integrating AI, data analytics and automation
• Manages and reports on open audit issues with management on corrective actions
• Leads problem-solving meetings across departments and teams
• Provides subject-matter expertise on IT governance and controls (ITGCs, cybersecurity, IAM, data governance, systems development, third-party risk)
• Responds to inquiries from external auditors (CPA, regulatory, group)
