Job summary

Westpac in Port Moresby seeks a Technical Support Officer to provide second/third-level IT support for business IT infrastructure, networks and data centre management. You will act as a bridge between end-users and the Technology team to ensure requirements are met with suitable technology solutions.

Based in Port Moresby, you will assist with operational effectiveness of technology infrastructure, handle escalations, and contribute to ongoing design and improvement of infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Tertiary level qualifications in IT, Computer Science or relevant industry recognised certification.
• At least 2 years' experience in a similar IT Support role.
• Proven skills and experience with Infrastructure Management, Data Centres and Communications & Networks.
• Technical skills in system design, installation/decommissioning, solutions architecture and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialised second and third-level IT support and monitor issue resolution.
• Perform first and second level problem diagnosis and escalation for unresolved issues.
• Undertake root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Ensure LAN, WAN and VPN connectivity and integrity is maintained.
• Install, configure and maintain infrastructure systems, patches and upgrades.
• Evaluate and assist design and implementation of infrastructure solutions.
