Job summary

The City of Wheat Ridge is seeking an IT Infrastructure Supervisor to lead a team and ensure the reliable operation of the city’s IT backbone, including servers, SaaS, networks, and telecom systems. This is a full-time, on-site role based at City Hall in Wheat Ridge, CO.

Candidates should have five years of infra leadership experience, hands-on hardware/software troubleshooting, and familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, and ITIL practices. Salary range listed with details on final hiring level.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience managing and delivering infrastructure design and operational excellence.
• Minimum two years experience managing an infrastructure team.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting software and hardware.
• Knowledge of current best practices and standards, including Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Azure, backups, and desktop support.
• Certifications in ITIL, Project Management, Microsoft systems, cybersecurity preferred.
• Public sector experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement short- and long-term infrastructure plans.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and training for infrastructure teams.
• Participate in IT strategy development with executive team.
• Research products, services, and standards to support infrastructure procurement.
• Ensure changes are documented and change management processes are followed.
• Fill in for CIO when needed.
• Manage vendors and contractors to secure infra products and services.
• Oversee deployment of infrastructure security measures.
• Supervise system administrators and service desk; conduct performance reviews.
• Define hardware and software standards with stakeholders.
• Test server performance and report on network performance.
• Maintain communications with IT executives and end users about changes.
