Job summary

The City of Wheat Ridge is seeking an IT Infrastructure Supervisor to manage staff and operations, ensuring stable operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. You will lead server, SaaS, network, and telecom infrastructure initiatives and drive timely resolutions for hardware/software issues.

Responsibilities include strategic planning, policy development, vendor management, security deployment, and providing Tier 4 support while fostering continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience managing and delivering infrastructure design and operational excellence.
• Minimum two years managing an infrastructure team.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of software and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement short- and long-term infrastructure plans to meet needs.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure policies and training for the team.
• Collaborate on IT strategies with executives.
• Research products and standards for procurement/ development.
• Ensure changes are documented and change processes followed.
• Fill in for IT Manager when needed.
• Manage vendors and contractors for infra products/services; oversee projects.
• Plan and deploy infrastructure security measures.
• Supervise system admins, desktop techs, and service desk; conduct reviews.
• Prioritize design/maintenance/evaluation of all infra systems (servers, CCTV, cloud, etc.).
• Oversee projects and project portfolio.
• Define hardware/software standards with stakeholders.
• Test server performance; report metrics; optimize infra.
• Communicate with IT executives and end users about infra changes.
• Practice IT asset management and documentation.
• Ensure quality user experiences; provide Tier 4 support when needed.
• Maintain continuous improvement mindset.
