Job summary

Simmons Foods is seeking an IT Help Desk Technician to ensure smooth computer operations and assist end users with technical issues across desktop, software and network devices. The role tracks requests in a helpdesk system, provides hands-on support at the desktop level, deploys new systems, backs up data, and supports office relocation projects, with travel to supported sites.

Candidates should have knowledge of Windows, macOS, Linux, Track‑It or similar tools, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred Associate's Degree in IT/Computer Science or related field.
• A+/MCP certifications are a plus.
• Preference for 2 years experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provides end user technical support and tracks internal customer support requests.
• Utilizes a helpdesk system to coordinate with IS staff and resolve problems.
• Stages and deploys new computer systems and software; setups hardware for staff.
• Assists with office relocations and coordination of equipment installations.
• Performs daily/ periodic backups and verifies recoverability; supports phone systems.
• Provides second level support and assists with networking issues; escalates when needed.
• Keeps up to date on desktop trends and participates in team activities and policy updates.
• Supports VMware and basic troubleshooting for system administrators.
