Job summary

DataServ/xFact is seeking a Field Technician to install and test technology solutions at customer sites across Ohio. You will stage equipment at our Westlake headquarters, transport it to sites, and assist with mounting and configuring devices under the guidance of a field lead.

The role requires travel Monday–Friday, physical lifting, power tool usage, and a professional, team-focused approach to deliver a great customer experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform installations.
• Frequent travel across Ohio, Monday to Friday.
• Experience with power tools and ladders; in-house training provided.
• Strong written and verbal communication and professional demeanor.
• Drug test and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with staging and installation activities.
• Transport equipment between sites.
• Travel to customer sites to mount and configure equipment.
• Attend project meetings and follow internal processes.
• Represent DataServ positively to customers and vendors.

Description

Join our valued team as a Field Technician and help ensure that hospitals, schools and businesses have the high-quality tech solutions they need to keep them safe while providing them with the tools necessary to succeed in an increasingly connected world.

We offer on-the-job training for the physical installation of a variety of solutions at customer sites across Ohio to ensure you are prepared for and comfortable with the tasks assigned to you and your team. You’d be a part of our project team responsible for staging equipment at our headquarters in Westlake, then transporting it to the customer sites. Finally, you’d be involved with both installation and testing of the solution to guarantee optimal customer experience year-round according to best practices and following the guidance and instruction of the on-site field lead.

What you'll do:

• Represent DataServ in a positive manner to colleagues, customer base and vendors.
• Assist engineers with staging and installation activities.
• Transport equipment between sites using a large company vehicle.
• Travel to customer sites to mount, rack and place various equipment including access points, door controls, phones, servers, switches, video surveillance cameras, etc.
• Mounting equipment to concrete walls will require the use of power tools and extended ladders which we will provide training on
• Participate in internal and customer project meetings as needed.
• Follow internal processes and embrace best practices.
• Be a supportive team member to others.
• All other duties as assigned.

What we require:

• Handle pressure and maintain professionalism.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Frequent travel across the state of Ohio, Monday - Friday with extended hours.
• Mechanically inclined; ability to use power tools, hand tools and climb ladders. (Experience is preferred but we do offer in-house training)
• Meet physical demands of the position including the ability to lift and handle up to 45 pounds of materials, bend, stoop and stretch as required for placement and retrieval of materials or equipment on shelving with or without accommodation.
