Job summary

Synergy ECP is looking for an IT Field Support Specialist to provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support to our end-user community. The role involves conducting site surveys, configuring computers, and training personnel on hardware usage.

Candidates must have at least five years of experience or an Associate’s degree with two years and expertise in troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware. Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently are also essential. This position offers a dynamic work environment in Maryland.

SynergyECP has an opening for an IT Field Support Specialist to support our end‑user community by providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 on‑site and remote support for computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and assess current configuration and user requirements.
• Analyze existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware acquisitions.
• Prepare engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages.
• Develop hardware installation schedules.
• Create drawings documenting configuration changes at each site.
• Prepare site installation and test reports.
• Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment.
• Train site personnel on proper hardware usage.
• Build specialized interconnecting cables.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and test computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.
• Install and configure computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment and associated cabling.
• Maintain fiber optic modems, multiplexers, fiber optic/Ethernet cables, and telephone systems.
• Update technical drawings using AutoCAD software as needed.

Requirements

• High school/GED or equivalent; a minimum of five (5) years of experience. (Alternatively, an Associate’s degree with two (2) years of experience.)
• Highly skilled in installing, repairing and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals.
• Well‑versed in Windows installation, applications, antivirus and patches.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematics.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Ability to manage time and priorities effectively and work independently.
• Proficient in remote end‑user support.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows 7 and 10.
• Familiarity with Active Directory security and policies.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Outstanding communication skills for teamwork and client interaction.
• Must be able to drive company vehicle.
• Available to work an 8‑hour shift between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., as determined by management.
