Job summary

Cabinetworks Group is seeking an IT Help Desk / Desktop Support Technician in Culver, OR to ensure operational readiness of client computing and peripheral devices. You will install, test, maintain, support, and troubleshoot hardware and software used in manufacturing processes and office tasks.

You will assist end users, document requests, and support server admins and network engineers in upgrades and implementations. On‑call rotation is required.

Qualifications

  • Associates level degree or higher in Information Systems or 2 years of experience working in an IT capacity.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Logical problem‑solving ability.
  • Ability and desire to learn and grow in skill and competency.
  • Proven knowledge of Windows, MS Office, Internet browsers, LAN/WAN/WLAN.
  • Ability to work well in a team or individually.
  • Clear and effective communication skills verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi‑task according to business needs and goals.
  • Willingness to participate in an on‑call rotation.
  • Physical ability to lift 30 lbs. and work on lift equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Build a rapport with customers and technical resources to relay problem descriptions effectively.
  • Document, prioritize, and resolve user requests in queue.
  • Utilize tools to document, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
  • Manage replacement equipment and software tools responsibly.
  • Handle surplus hardware and software inventories and disposal of obsolete materials.
  • Perform preventive maintenance of in‑service equipment and software.
  • Understand customer processes and recommend solutions and improvements.
  • Assist systems admins and engineers with implementations and upgrades.
  • Coordinate with external resources and contractors as needed.
  • Assist in administration of specialized software requirements and client data.
  • Support antivirus and malware remediation efforts.
  • Assist the CSD in rollover as a supplemental resource.

Overview

Responsible for ensuring operational readiness of client computing and peripheral devices used to accomplish organizational tasks. This includes installation, testing, preventive maintenance, support, and troubleshooting hardware and software utilized to fulfill prescribed manufacturing processes and various office applications. Assist end users in defining requirements and recommending solutions, and support server administrators and network engineers in completing system implementations and upgrades.

Principal Functional Responsibilities
  • Build a rapport with customers and technical resources that enhances your ability to receive and relay effective problem descriptions.
  • Document, prioritize, and resolve user requests received in queue through a tracking tool.
  • Effectively utilize provided tools to document, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
  • Responsible use and management of accessible replacement equipment and software tools.
  • Responsible use and management of surplus hardware and software inventories and proper disposal of obsolete materials.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and upkeep of "in service" equipment and software.
  • Understand your customer's process and assist in recommending solutions and improvements.
  • Assist systems administrators and engineers in accomplishing implementations and upgrades.
  • Act as a liaison in utilizing, interacting with, and directing external resources and contractors.
  • Assist in administration of specialized software requirements and client data.
  • Assist in administration of anti‑virus and virus/malware remediation.
  • Assist CSD (Client Services Desk) in rollover and as supplemental resource as needed.
Shift

Full time. Must participate in an on‑call rotation.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Associates level degree or higher in Information Systems or 2 years of experience working in an IT capacity.

  • Proven knowledge of common systems such as Windows, MS Office Suite, Internet browsers, line‑matrix, thermal transfer, and laser printing; LAN/WAN/WLAN.

  • Clear and effective communication skills verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi‑task according to business needs and goals.
  • Willingness to participate in an on‑call rotation.
  • Physical ability to lift 30 lbs. and work on lift equipment.
