Job summary

State of Louisiana is seeking an IT Director for LSERS to lead the Information Technology Department across development, support, and document management. The role reports to the Unclassified, Assistant Executive Director and requires directing multiple IT units and aligning technology with agency goals.

The ideal candidate will have extensive IT leadership experience, strong governance, and the ability to manage budgets, external partners, and enterprise-scale initiatives within a public-sector

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience in information technology.
• Six years of full-time work experience in IT or related field.
• Bachelor’s or higher degree with IT focus plus required experience.
• Experience substitution: 30 semester hours = 1 year of experience, up to 120 semester hours.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate business needs and goals with admins and users; develop long-range IT strategy.
• Plan and monitor agency-wide IT operating budget (~$250,000; >$700,000 with personnel).
• Meet with admins and users to discuss projects; guide new MIS processes and enhancements.
• Provide oversight for IT equipment/software purchases; ensure integration with current infrastructure.
• Direct IT programming, support, consulting, and operations; manage staff and evaluations.
• Oversee external project managers/consultants coordinating hardware/software integration.
• Direct and monitor business continuity and disaster recovery plans; ensure security/compliance.
