Job summary

Coremark Metals is seeking an IT Desktop Support Specialist in Minneapolis to provide day-to-day technical assistance and sustain the desktop computing environment. The role emphasizes strong problem solving, clear communication, and prioritizing multiple support requests.

Schedule: 7:00am - 3:30pm. Pay: $60,000-$75,000 annually, commensurate with experience and education. Full-time position with opportunities for growth within IT.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of desktop support or help desk experience.
• Experience with Windows OS and Microsoft 365.
• Familiarity with Active Directory and VPN technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot Windows OS, applications, hardware, and connectivity issues.
• Install, configure, deploy, maintain, and repair computers and related equipment.
• Support Microsoft 365 apps including Outlook, Word, Excel, and more.
• Create and manage user accounts and access using identity-management platforms.
• Assist with password resets, MFA, VPN, Wi-Fi, and remote access issues.
• Diagnose basic LAN/DNS/DHCP and network connectivity problems.
• Document incidents and service requests in the IT ticketing system.
• Prepare equipment and access for new hires; offboarding tasks for departing users.
• Maintain hardware and software inventories; deploy security updates.
