PenFed Credit Union is seeking an IT Manager, Core Engineering Applications to oversee legacy mainframe systems and modernized solutions. You will lead COBOL/JCL/Easytrieve teams, ensure batch/workload stability, and drive integrations with Mule and Salesforce while reporting progress to IT leadership and business partners.

The role emphasizes resiliency, performance, and business value, with on-site work at multiple U.S. locations. Strong leadership and stakeholder communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in COBOL, JCL, Easytrieve; 3–5+ years managing teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CS/MIS/related field.
• Strong knowledge of batch scheduling and mainframe ecosystems.

Responsabilités

• Lead and mentor programmers delivering legacy and modernized solutions.
• Own reliability, performance, change control and incident management.
• Plan integrations with Mule and Salesforce; coordinate data flows.
• Provide stakeholder updates on milestones, risks, and outcomes.
• Ensure alignment with IT standards, security, and audit requirements.
• Promote modernization while preserving system stability.
