Job summary

BNY is seeking a Vice President, Mainframe Engineer to join the Foundational Frameworks team in Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL. This role focuses on developing, enhancing, and maintaining complex mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, SAS, and VSAM, with CMOD administration and DevOps collaboration across CI/CD pipelines.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of mainframe experience, strong problem-solving, and communication skills, plus familiarity with batch processing and L2/L3 production

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
5+ years of experience supporting mainframe applications.
Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM and SAS.
Understanding of batch processing.
Experience with GitLab, CI/CD or similar tools.
Exposure to mainframe DevOps practices.
Knowledge of REXX, Assembler.

Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, SAS, and VSAM.
Participate in mainframe DevOps initiatives (GitLab, CI/CD, automated testing).
Administer and maintain CMOD environments across development, testing, and production.
Monitor platform health, performance, and availability.
Provide L2/L3 support for production incidents and service requests.
Support CMOD databases (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server) and integrations.
