Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Proficient with commands, programs, scripts, and possess advanced knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Knowledge of IT Operator software.
- Strong communication, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Problem solving for software and hardware issues.
- Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word.
Previous Experience and Competencies:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 6 months of related experience, training, or education.
Key Competencies:
- High proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Participate in on-the-job training and formal classes to develop experience in operating computers and data processing equipment.
- Learn scheduling and monitoring of seismic processing jobs and related hardware and software.
- Familiarize with seismic processing applications and data processing equipment configuration.
- Learn commands for interfacing with computer consoles, executing scripts, and using graphical interfaces.
- Develop proficiency with Linux, Windows, and related programs for seismic data processing.
- Monitor data center safety, power, and cooling, and understand error messages.
- Use reporting mechanisms for system errors, submit problem tickets, and record issues in logs.
- Comply with all QHSE policies and objectives in the data center.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee scheduling and monitoring of seismic processing jobs on large cluster systems, ensuring proper job completion and resource use.
- Operate OCM/OCM2 systems, schedule jobs, load and balance workloads, and troubleshoot job issues.
- Identify system issues and coordinate with support teams for hardware and software problems.
- Adjust job performance loads and system configurations as needed to balance priorities.
