Job description

Our Client, an Oilfield Services company, is looking for a Computer Operator Direct for their Houston, TX location.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and control seismic data processing on large cluster computing systems.
• Allocate resources and follow a daily priority list.
• Communicate with internal users via email or phone.
• Perform tasks such as mounting tapes in tape drives or hooking up USB disks.
• Ensure proper job completion, job performance, and use of system resources.
• Identify and resolve system issues and report to support teams.
• Participate in on-the-job training and comply with QHSE policies.

Requirements:

• Highly proficient with Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Comfortable issuing standard commands in Linux and Windows environments.
• Strong communication, reporting, productivity, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word.
• Ability to interact with internal and external customers, vendors, and support teams.
