Job summary

Formic is seeking an hands-on IT Operations & Workplace Tech Pro in Bolingbrook, IL to own day-to-day IT, office technology, and the Bolingbrook workspace. You will manage devices, accounts, permissions, and onboarding/offboarding while enabling a seamless employee experience through automation and AI-driven improvements.

The role requires strong fundamentals, a proactive mindset, and comfort working with physical equipment onsite.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of IT operations, systems administration, or hands-on technology environment.
• Strong curiosity about technology and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Experience with AI tools and automation to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day IT support across Mac and Windows devices, applications, accounts, and connectivity.
• Manage onboarding and offboarding, including accounts, permissions, and access removal.
• Administer device fleet (MDM/RMM, patching, encryption, endpoint protection, deployment).
• Maintain hardware inventory and lifecycle planning; handle purchasing and repairs.
• Oversee office technology (Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, 1Password, Microsoft 365, Apple Business Manager, VPN).
• Manage accounts, groups, permissions, licenses, MFA, SSO, and access.
• Document systems, configurations, processes, vendors, and admin access.
• Own Bolingbrook office tech and vendor relationships; ensure space is stocked and functioning.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance with landlords and external vendors.
• Automate workplace operations and build internal tools using AI, scripts, or low-code/no-code solutions.
