Qualifications

The AI & Technology Leader will own the organization’s technology environment from end to end, including enterprise systems, infrastructure, vendor relationships, data, AI, and automation.

This is a hands-on builder role focused on direct execution. The successful candidate will maintain critical technology operations while personally identifying, developing, and deploying practical solutions that measurably improve how the business operates. The technology function is currently lean, with the opportunity to build additional capabilities and a team as organizational needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities

Practical AI & Process Improvement

• Work directly with employees and leaders to understand workflows, identify inefficiencies, and determine where AI or automation can create meaningful value.
• Personally design, build, test, and deploy practical AI-enabled or automated solutions.
• Establish measurable outcomes for each initiative, such as time saved, costs avoided, faster cycle times, improved accuracy, or better service.
• Prioritize useful, adopted solutions and demonstrated business results over strategy documents alone.

Technology Operations & Ownership

• Own and operate the organization’s core technology environment, including enterprise systems, infrastructure, software, and vendor relationships.
• Maintain reliable day-to-day technology operations while advancing modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate technology investments, manage external partners, and ensure systems are secure, scalable, reliable, and appropriate for the organization’s needs.

Systems & Data Foundation

• Assess the current technology stack, including enterprise, operational, project, reporting, and collaboration systems.
• Strengthen data quality, integration, governance, and accessibility before introducing advanced AI or automation.
• Reduce manual entry, duplicated effort, and disconnected workflows across office-based and distributed operational teams.
• Establish a stable technology and data foundation that can support continued organizational growth.
• Build trust and adoption through practical partnership, clear communication, and strong working relationships.
• Help leaders and employees understand where AI can realistically add value without overpromising or over-engineering solutions.
• Introduce new tools and processes in a way that is accessible, useful, and aligned with how employees work.
• Operate effectively in a lean, fast-moving environment where priorities may evolve and formal processes are still developing.

Experience & Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience serving as a hands‑on technology owner who has personally built, implemented, administered, and improved systems.
• Specific experience deploying AI, automation, or workflow solutions, with the ability to explain what was built and the measurable outcome it produced.
• Direct ownership of an ERP or comparable enterprise platform, including implementation, administration, integration, or significant optimization.
• Experience supporting a multi-site, distributed, field‑oriented, or operational workforce.
• Experience in a project‑based or operational services environment is helpful but not required.
• Strong working knowledge of technology operations, systems architecture, vendor management, data, security, and business process improvement.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language for both leadership and frontline employees.
• Comfortable working as a practical builder in a relationship‑driven organization with limited layers and an evolving structure.

SUCCESS MEASURES FOR THE FIRST 12 MONTHS

• At least one AI or automation solution is operating in production with a specific, documented improvement in time, cost, accuracy, or service.
• A high-friction operational or administrative workflow is more reliable and requires meaningfully less manual work.
• Employees and leaders demonstrate trust in, understanding of, and adoption of new technology solutions.
• The organization has a stable, well‑understood technology and data foundation that can support continued growth.
• Leadership has a practical, prioritized technology roadmap grounded in business needs and measurable value.

LEADERSHIP PROFILE

The strongest candidate will be equally comfortable troubleshooting a current system, meeting with employees to understand a workflow, evaluating a technology vendor, and building an automation prototype.
