Job summary

RL Canning, a global IT services and consultancy, seeks an IT Asset Management Analyst to oversee the full asset lifecycle, maintain CMDB data accuracy, and optimize procurement. You will collaborate with procurement, finance, IT operations, and security to ensure compliance and drive cost efficiency.

Responsibilities include asset tagging, inventory control, audits, and KPI reporting, plus promoting sustainable, compliant asset practices across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience in IT Asset Management, including hardware and software assets in a large organization or healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in using IT asset management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, FreshService, or similar platforms).
  • Experience with Configuration Management Database (CMDB) administration and ITIL framework preferred.
  • Basic understanding of hardware and software lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with software deployment tools and scripts (e.g., SCCM, PowerShell) preferred.
  • IT Asset Management (ITAM) certification such as CITAM or CHAMP, and ITIL Foundation preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support client projects and corporate responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full IT asset lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, utilization, maintenance, and disposal of hardware and software assets.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and maintenance contracts.
  • Administer and maintain the CMDB, ensuring data accuracy and ITSM compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and improve asset management processes, including tagging, tracking, audits, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies for IT assets.
  • Produce and analyze KPIs related to asset management and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, IT operations, and security teams to align asset strategies.
  • Oversee physical inventories, including receiving, storing, and restocking assets and forecasting needs.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations and performance alignment.
  • Prepare and submit reports on asset status, inventory, end-of-life, license positions, and compliance metrics.
  • Promote sustainable asset management practices including recycling and responsible disposal.
  • Support SAM processes, including license management and optimization.
  • Respond to asset information requests and support special projects.
  • Perform other tasks to support business objectives.

Job Overview

RL Canning is seeking an experienced IT Asset Management Analyst to join our IT team. This role manages hardware and software assets, ensuring compliance with vendor contracts and optimizing procurement strategies. This role oversees IT procurement and inventory management and serves as the primary administrator for the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).


The US base hourly range for this full-time position is $25.00 to $29.00 per hour W2, along with a comprehensive benefits package detailed in the “Benefits Offered” section of the job description. The hourly wage offered within this range will be influenced by factors such as work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In this role, you will


  • Manage the full IT asset lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, utilization, maintenance, and disposal of hardware and software assets.

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and maintenance contracts.

  • Administer and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring data accuracy and compliance with IT Service Management (ITSM) standards.

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve asset management processes and procedures, including asset tagging, inventory tracking, compliance audits, and sustainability initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to IT assets, identifying and mitigating risks associated with asset management.

  • Produce and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to asset management, utilizing data analytics to generate insights and strategic recommendations.

  • Collaborate closely with procurement, finance, IT operations, and security teams to align asset management strategies with organizational goals.

  • Oversee physical inventories, including receiving, storing, and restocking IT assets, as well as managing asset replenishment and forecasting needs.

  • Manage relationships with vendors, including contract negotiations and ensuring vendor performance aligns with organizational needs.

  • Prepare and submit reports on asset status, including current inventory, upcoming end-of-life equipment, license positions, and compliance metrics.

  • Implement and promote sustainable asset management practices, including environmentally responsible procurement, recycling, and disposal of IT assets.

  • Support software asset management (SAM) processes, including license management, compliance tracking, and software asset optimization.

  • Respond to asset management information requests from stakeholders and support special projects as needed.

  • Perform other tasks as necessary to support and achieve business objectives.


For this role, you will need
