Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Chicago seeks an experienced Solutions Architect to design, build, and migrate applications on the AWS platform for high-growth ISVs. You will provide prescriptive architectural guidance, collaborate with Sales and Partner teams, and help customers deploy scalable cloud solutions.

The role emphasizes deep architectural discussions, cross-team collaboration, and contributing to customer-facing publications to advance AWS cloud adoption among enterprise customers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.
• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
• Experience working with end user or developer communities.

Responsibilities

• As a key member of the SA team, ensure success in designing, building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
• Provide architectural guidance and recommendations on running applications efficiently and reliably on AWS platform.
• Assist ISVs with the definition of technical strategies that will enable them to present their offering on the AWS platform.
• Participate in deep architectural discussions and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS while ensuring solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
• Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white papers and blog articles.
• Share customer feedback to internal product management and engineering teams to help drive the future of AWS cloud.
• In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute sales strategies to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of the AWS platform. This includes presentations, proof of concepts, demos, and hands on evaluations.
• Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solutions architect community.
