Job summary

American University’s International Student & Scholar Services is seeking a friendly, organized student to join our team as an ISSS Student Advisor. This role provides customer service to international students, supports admin tasks, and helps run office operations with a proactive, problem-solving approach.

The position is on-campus, part-time (20 hours/week), with attention to immigration matters, access to campus resources, and collaboration with a diverse student body.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist international students and visitors with general immigration, cultural, and adjustment inquiries in a professional and welcoming manner.
• Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and manage the front desk area.
• Provide information about campus resources, programs, and services available to international students.
• Assist with the immigration document creation process through the evaluation of financial documents and updating sensitive student files in the office database (Sunapsis).
• Support the preparation and distribution of informational materials and documents.
• Help organize and participate in events and activities hosted by ISSS.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
