Job summary

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation seeks an Assistant Program Manager/Educator to reside at one of CBF’s Island Environmental Education Centers. This full-time, year-round role requires living on-site March through December and starting by the first week of October.

You will support program planning and delivery of multi-day field programs for middle and high school students, supervise seasonal staff, and help maintain educational gear. Housing is provided for staff during the field seasons.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of teaching experience in formal or non-formal settings.
• Strong desire to teach in the field/outdoors and inspire students daily.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Collaborative work style and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of environmental issues and watershed concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist Program Manager with developing and teaching 3-day/2-night field programs using hands-on methods.
• Adapt program content based on grade level, weather, and feedback from teachers.
• Communicate ecosystem and watershed concepts to diverse audiences.
• Plan and execute summer courses for teacher professional development and student leadership.
