Pickering Creek Audubon Center, situated on a tidal tributary of the Chesapeake Bay, seeks a part-time, seasonal School-Year Educator to inspire students and advance conservation. The role supports our education team, reports to the Director of Education, and collaborates with staff, volunteers, and schools.
The ideal candidate has at least one year of field-based teaching or work with children, an undergraduate degree in biology or related field, and a passion for birds, wildlife, and habitats.
Pickering Creek is located on a tidal tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. The Center's 450 acres are a microcosm of Maryland's Eastern Shore. We seek an enthusiastic individual that is willing to inspire others about the natural world and take conservation action.
Pickering Creek Audubon Center seeks a part-time, seasonal School-Year Educator to assist in delivering our successful environmental education programs. The School-Year Educator will serve as integral to our education team; report to the center's Director of Education; and work closely with all center staff. They will maintain positive and friendly working relationships with the general public, volunteers, and local/regional community organizations and school groups.
This is a part-time, seasonal position beginning September 9, 2026 through May 26, 2027. There is a winter break from early December 2026 through February/March 2027. Some weekends and evenings required.
Salary: $17/hour, up to 28-hour work week during busiest field seasons
